This Inuit Viking Bronze depicts a point of pre-contact where a Viking man holds up a toggle harpoon and lashing. In the Viking sagas there are references to contact with native people whom the Viking call skralings, most likely referring to the Thule, the ancestors of modern Inuit. The Viking has a bewildered and quizzical look because he knows that they are not alone.
