The Sedna story differs greatly fromregion to region across the vast arctic world of the Inuit. FromSiberia, Far East Russia (Chukotka) to Greenland, the story is one with a common thread as she is regarded as guardian of all sea creatures. In some stories, she is the old grandmother, in others amature powerful woman with a husband and children as depicted in this whalebone sculpture.
