In creating this work, I am attempting to use this exercise for the development for future works. I am incorporating scenes and images within images. In the case of this Viking ship, I am portraying multiple layers of design and detail within the ship. On the sides of the ship are carved details of daily life with cut-out decorative elements, dragon heads on the bow and stern, while figures and characters from myths and legends are on the deck of the ship. The ship itself is hollowed out with placement of a smaller scale Viking ship with passengers that represent the North Atlantic Saga. Those Viking who traveled from their homelands and made their landfall in British Isles, Iceland Greenland and the new world.
