The inspiration behind this sculpture comes from an ancient Danish pictograph found in Northern Denmark. The pictograph depicts a man transforming into a hawk, and the transformation may be interpreted as a shaman’s transformation. In front of the sculpture is a bird-man transformation with shamanic elements of spirits animals such as birds and fish, and in a migratory flight. On the backside of the sculpture we have a representation of Viking as handed down through their myths, legends and images, and engaged in their daily chores as they would have been a 1000 years ago as they ventured into the new world.
